Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” – Ephesians 5:25 ESV

The unique opportunity marriage offers is that you get the primary responsibility and privilege of making another human being feel loved, cherished, and worthy. You get the primary responsibility and privilege of making their life awesome and epic.

No one else on the entire planet gets that opportunity, except you.

This is awesome, hard, and incredibly scary all at once.

Celebrating one year of marriage with my beautiful bride today ?????? SO grateful for you @abstagrama , you are an amazing wife, and I don't know what I did to deserve you. I love you so much, here's to 70+ more years to come!! ???☕️????❤️❤️❤️?

Is marriage easy? No. Is it always romance, bliss, and ‘mountain top’ experiences? No.

Marriage can be hard. Really hard.

But marriage is incredibly beautiful. The struggle, endurance, fight, joy, forgiveness, pleasure, journey, reconciliation, companionship, love, and unique opportunity of marriage is worth it.

Marriage is very similar to hiking and rock climbing: It’s rough, tiring, and requires a lot of effort, but the experience and joy is beautiful, and so worth it.

A good marriage isn’t something you find; it’s something you make.” – Gary Thomas, author of Sacred Marriage

Whether you’re single or married, don’t give up.

If you’re single, don’t give up hope – prepare to offer your future spouse the best version of you.

If you’re married, stay faithful to your spouse, create a great marriage that endures over time, and recognize the unique opportunity marriage offers. You get the primary responsibility and privilege of making your spouse feel loved, cherished, and worthy. No one else in the entire world has that opportunity.

Make the most of it.

Side note: Today is my wife and I’s one year anniversary :) Happy one year sweetheart! I love you so much.
